PROGRAM 1: VELIKA PLANINA EXPERIENCE - 2 DAYs

DAY 1

An experienced tourist guide will be waiting for you with morning coffee at the Tourist information point in Kamnik, where he will present the entire itinerary to you, and explain all the important information about Velika PlaninaThis will be followed by a tour of the interpretation centre, where you will be able to explore all the natural and cultural landmarks of Velika Planina, through an innovative audio-visual experience. If you so wish, you will also be able to have a tasting of the traditional Rušovec drink.After the tour, you will take a short transfer to the cable car, where a local guide and a shepherd will be waiting for you. Together you will take a cable car and chairlift ride to Velika planina, where your first stop will be the restaurant Zeleni Rob, at which point you will enjoy a traditional brunch, while admiring the beautiful views that the restaurant’s terrace offers.Following brunch, your guide will escort you to your accommodation in a luxurious traditional alpine cottage, where you will be able to take a short break, to relax a bit, before your experience continues.Rested and refreshed, you will now embark on a shepherd’s experience, through which, you will get to know the history of shepherding. A specialized guide will take you on a tour of the Shepherd’s Village, which is one of the best-preserved villages of its type in Europe. At the conclusion of the village tour, you will now visit the Preskar museum which is the only example of an oval shepherd’s hut, converted into a museum, and the Zabrška bajta, one of the two huts build on Velika Planina in the original style after the second world war. Followed by a visit to the chapel of Marija Snežna, build after a sketch by the famous Slovenian architect Jože Plečnik.The tour will be followed by a traditional shepherd’s lunch at the Gradišek shepherd’s hut.After lunch, you will head to a local shepherd, who will present to you his workday and the process of cow milking, which you will be able to also try for yourselves. You will also be able to take part in a workshop, educating you in the art of preparing the traditional local cheese Trnič. When you finish, your guide will escort you back to your accommodation.In the evening hours, you will receive a visit from one of the best local chefs, who will prepare for you, a modern interpretation of a traditional dinner using only the finest locally sourced ingredients. After dinner, if you wish, your guide can take you stargazing, since Velika Planina has a very low level of light pollution.Followed by an overnight stay in your luxurious traditional alpine cottage, known for its traditional architecture.

DAY 2

In the morning you will first have a traditional shepherd’s breakfast, that will be delivered by a shepherd straight to your cottage.Afterwards you will head to the cable car and return to the valley. On your request, you can continue your stay, either on your own or with our help.

PROGRAM 2: VELIKA PLANINA - ACTIVE DAY ( E-BIKES)

You will kick off your active day with a shepherd’s breakfast at the restaurant Zeleni rob, where you will enjoy your breakfast while admiring the beautiful views that the restaurant’s terrace offers.Breakfast will be followed by a guided descent of the panoramic road to the valley with the provided e-bikes and then a short ascent to the beautiful source of the Kamniška Bistrica river. After a short break at the spring, where the bravest will also be able to enjoy a refreshing dip in the fresh mountain waters, you will embark on a short hike to the spectacular Predaselj gorge, which is with its amazing natural features, one of the gems of the area.On the way back to your e-bikes, you will be able to stop by the Firšt table, where you can enjoy in your lunch baskets in the pleasant shade of the forest, followed by a quick dash down the valley on the provided e-bikes to area 70, where an expert team will be waiting for you with an adrenalin filled experience on the grounds of the former gunpowder factory.You will experience a bow battle in the arena, ziplining and zorbing. Your visit to area 70 will conclude with a barbecue supper.After your adventurous afternoon in area 70, you will return with the e-bikes to the Velika planina cable car start, where your active day with us will conclude.

12:45 Direction Kamniška Bistrica – stop at the Predaselj Gorge and the source of Kamniška Bistrica – 15 min – time for a snack from your backpack

14:00 Return by gondola to Velika Planina

PROGRAM 3: VELIKA PLANINA - CULINARY & CULTURAL DAY

You will start your culinary and cultural experience with a shepherd’s breakfast at the restaurant Zeleni rob, where you will enjoy your breakfast while admiring the beautiful views that the restaurant’s terrace offers.After breakfast you will take the chairlift and cable car to the valley, where a private transfer will be waiting to take you to the Restaurant Repnik, one of the best culinary locations in the wider area.Here you will start your magical horse drawn carriage ride to the centre of Kamnik, where you will be meet by one of our experienced local guides. Together you will embark on a tour to explore Kamnik and its rich cultural heritage. During the tour you will visit the Natural Museum, the Maister Museum and take a walk up to the Mali grad, which offers dazzling views of the city and its green surroundings.Following the tour, you will once again enjoy a horse drawn carriage ride back to the Restaurant Repnik, where you will enjoy a special ‘’Tastes of Kamnik) lunch.After this unique culinary experience, you will be taken back to the Velika planina cable car start by a private transfer, where your experience for the day will conclude.

PROGRAM 4: VELIKA PLANINA - WELLNESS DAY

The wellness day starts with a shepherd’s breakfast at the restaurant Zeleni rob, where you will enjoy your breakfast while admiring the beautiful views that the restaurant’s terrace offers.After breakfast you will take the chairlift and cable car to the valley, where a private transfer will be waiting to take you to Terme Snovik.In Terme Snovik you will be able to enjoy in a day of swimming, saunas, massages, and if you so desire, also participate in some Kneipp detox treatments. During the afternoon, you will also enjoy the Kneipp culinary experience offered by Terme Snovik.When your wellness day will come to an end, a private transfer will once again be waiting for you and will take you back to the Velika planina cable car start, where your day with us will finish.
